Ingredients for 4 people

  • 350 gRed onions
  • 100 gKühne Fine Cornichons (drained weight)
  • 4 TbspBrown sugar
  • 200 mlRed wine
  • 7 TbspKühne Balsamissimo Balsamissimo creamy mild
  • 1 TspSalt
  •  Pepper
  • 150 gRobust, semi-hard cut cheese of your choice (e.g. manchego, goat cheese, blue-veined cheese)

Preparation

Rezept Käseteller mit Gurken-Zwiebel Chutney

1. Peel the onions, cut in half and cut lengthwise into narrow strips. Cut the Kühne Fine Cornichons in half lengthwise and cut into thin slices.


2. Add the sugar in a frying pan and let caramelise over medium heat. Pour in the red wine pour in and let simmer until the caramelised sugar has completely dissolved. Add the onions and Kühne Balsamissimo admit and let simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes. Next add the gherkins and let reduce for about 20 minutes until everything has a creamy consistency. Season with salt and pepper and leave to cool. Serve with the cheese.


*Tip: Baguette or crusty bread makes the perfect accompaniment. *
