  • 1 kgFloury potatoes
  • 1Bay leaf
  • 150 mlMilk
  • 3 TbspButter
  • 150 gYoghurt
  •  Salt
  •  Pepper
  •  Nutmeg
  • 1Red onion (100 g)
  • 1Garlic clove
  • 200 gKühne Pumpkin Cubes (drained weight)
  • 4Kassler smoked pork chops (200 g each)
  • 2 TbspVegetable oil

Rezept Kasseler mit Kürbis und Kartoffelstampf

1. Peel the potatoes, cut into coarse cubes and cook with the bay leaf for 20 minutes until tender.

2. Drain the potatoes, remove the bay leaf, add milk and two-thirds of the butter and mash with a potato masher. Stir in yoghurt, season with salt, pepper and nutmeg and keep warm.

3. Peel the onions and cut into halves and into fine wedges crosswise. Finely dice the garlic. Sauté the onions and garlic in the remaining butter over medium heat for 5 minutes until transparent. Add Kühne Pumpkin Cubes, stir together once and keep warm.

4. Fry the Kassler smoked pork chip in oil on both sides for 5 minutes until golden brown. Serve the Kassler smoked pork chop with pumpkin cubes and mashed potatoes.

*Tip: Try the mashed potatoes with freshly chopped herbs (e.g. parsley, chives and dill).*
